He wasn't named SCG for nothing since, to this day, Stuart MacGill, who ranks alongside O'Reilly, Grimmett, Benaud, and Warne among the greatest Australian spinners of all time, and certainly among the world's top 5 leg spinners of all time, is renowned for turning the ball more than virtually any other spinner in history.
He retains the record for the most "5 fors" at the SCG, after whom he is named (and whom he still serves as an SCG Trustee) by any bowler in over a century of Test cricket at one of the greatest cricket grounds in the world.
He also holds the record for the greatest match figures by any Test bowler at the SCG, 12 for 107 against England in 1999.
